Now firmly established as one of the boroughs favourite monthly events, Hyde’s Artisan Market will celebrate the start of its third season on Saturday 3rd March, when bargain hunters and regular shoppers will see more than 30 local and visiting Crafters and Artisans who’ll gather to showcase their handmade goods and original artwork on Hyde’s Civic Square.
Once again running on the first Saturday in the month, from March to December, Hyde’s Artisan Markets’ aim is to further promote high quality local arts and crafts and quality food products.
Since its inception, the monthly Artisan Markets have been warmly welcomed on the local scene and have given locals and visitors to the area the opportunity to buy a wide range of locally produced fresh, high quality homemade, affordable products and items, direct from carefully selected producers, artists and craftspeople.
Karen Dorney, Owner of Paper Tulips Craft Emporium, who created and organizes the popular monthly event, said “The Artisan Market has become an equally excellent selling place for Artists and Craftspeople as well as for enterprising individuals, who are creating delicious delicacies, and serves as an excellent showcase for their considerable talents.”
Last year saw this growing Town Centre event become a major launch pad for local artisans, who presented a diverse array of handcrafted and locally-produced goods to shoppers, turning Hyde’s Civic Square into one of the busiest monthly market venues in Tameside!
“The first Artisan Market of the year is sure to be a bumper one with a great mix of new and returning artisans who will be presenting their handmade goods this year,” said Hyde’s Town Team Chair, Julia Harrison, who leads Hyde’s team of volunteers’ who are totally committed to restoring the town centre to the glory years of yesteryear, when people travelled from far and wide to visit Hyde’s outdoor Market.
She also added, “It’s wonderful to hear that so many new returning Crafters, Artists and Foodies, who have become favourites with many Hyde shoppers, have booked their stalls already; that’s because they have found tremendous value in connecting personally with their customers and with fellow Artisans. People really enjoyed the quality and value of the artisan food and gifts on offer and I am sure this coming season, with even more diverse offerings, the Artisan events will be bigger and even better than before!”
As usual, throughout the Artisan Market season, there will be the added fun and musical entertainment which combines to create the unique ambiance of Hyde’s Artisan Market.
*EDITORS NOTE: There will be more details revealed onsite nearer the event, but rest assured, during 2018 there will be more stalls and even more fun, bargains and entertainment for the whole family, when you visit Hyde’s monthly Artisan Markets!
Markets have taken place for centuries throughout the North West; and in Hyde we want to maintain and keep up this tradition. As the saying goes ‘if you don’t use it, you’ll lose it!’ So, please support your local Town Centre by visiting Hyde’s Artisan market, on the 3rd March 2018 – you’ll love it!
