We have just received notice that Hyde’s ‘spring’ Artisan Market has been cancelled tomorrow (03 March 2018) due to strong winds and hazardous, freezing winter conditions.
As many people will know, the Met Office has released a yellow weather warning that blizzards, strong winds, drifting snow and bitter cold have caused widespread disruption as the “Beast from the East” combined with ‘Storm Emma’ combined to spread freezing weather conditions across the country.
Karen Dorney, who organizes the popular Hyde town centre Artisan Market, said, after consulting with Tameside Markets, it became obvious that we had to cancel the Artisan Market tomorrow, due to very high freezing wind forecasts, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.”
“We waited until the last moment to make this decision, but based on the latest weather warnings we have taken the decision to cancel tomorrow’s event for the safety of our crafters, shoppers and all concerned.”
“Thank you to everyone for their loyalty to the ‘Hyde Artisan Market Days’ and assure you we will be open for business when we pick up the fabulous Artisan Market program again in April.
So, put a big maker on your calendar for the 1st Saturday in the month to visit Hyde’s Artisan Market.
The Market will now open on Saturday 7th April 2018 from 9.00am till 4.00pm – then, when you’ve filled your shopping bags with crafty bargains – drop into one of Hyde’s many cafés for coffee and cakes or a full blown delicious meal!
