Based on last year’s successful Spring Classic Car Show, which pulled huge crowds to Hyde’s Town Centre, Hyde Town Team are repeating this popular event on Saturday 12th May 2018, which will once again see Hyde Civic Square filled with a number of Classic and Vintage Cars from a bygone era.
This year, the volunteers on Hyde’s Town Team have collaborated with your local Hyde Specsavers store, which will be sponsoring the day and casting a critical eye over the entrants.
Organised in conjunction with the Tame Valley Vintage and Classic Car Club, the spring vintage vehicle extravaganza is expected to attract up to 25 cars, motorcycles and other magnificently turned out vehicles, to the civic square.
Now firmly established in the town’s events calendar, the bi-annual Vintage & Classic Car Shows have become a well-attended fundraising vehicle for the Town Team’s many visitor promoting endeavours.
Neil Openshaw, Vice-Chair of Hyde Town Team said: “This event is another great opportunity for motoring enthusiasts and families to visit Hyde Town Centre and see a wide variety of cars and vehicles from years gone by.”
“Previous shows have been a great success and have grown in popularity year on year. That’s why we’ve decided to hold two shows again this year, which gives visitors an opportunity to visit all the shops and market stalls and see for themselves the many attractions our town centre has to offer.”
Entrants will be judged during the show by Diane Wood, Hyde Specsavers Director, who will also present the prizes, with one proud owner picking up the prestigious Specsavers ‘Best Car of the Show’ Trophy.
The event starts at 11am and lasts until 3.30pm with Stalybridge & Hyde MP Jonathan Reynolds, arriving around noon to view the vehicles and assist in the prize giving.
Visitors will also have the chance of picking up some fabulous prizes in the ‘Town Team Raffle’ as well as picking up a special ‘I Love Hyde Town Centre’ car sticker; a new Hyde Town Team promotion which gives local shoppers the opportunity to win a range of fabulous weekly prizes; courtesy of many of Hyde’s participating retailers.
And for the children, the organizers have arranged for Hyde United’s Specsavers sponsored mascot ‘Roary the Tiger’ to visit to the show – making this spring opener – another Hyde event to remember! – Both kids and grown-ups alike will love it!
As always, entry in the show is free!
